As I write this we are having a “once in  50 years”  weather event at the beginning of autumn.  Hmm, feels like we have skipped autumn and rushed into winter!  I hope that anyone who has a boat in Lyttleton has not suffered too badly.  We need you guys for Matariki!  More on that in another post.

So far this year we have had a couple of club weekends and two major regattas, Old Salts and Paper Tiger Canterbury Champs.  The Old Salts had 23 boats and it was the best sailing conditions that anyone could remember at the bay.  And that’s saying something considering there were a lot of old memory holders there 🙂 .  The dinner was yummy, thank you Brenda and the quiz night  was a great success thanks to wonderful organisers Nikki and Vincent.  Peter Bain and his Ashburton team were clear winners.  A lot of fun was had by all.  Results are here:Old Salts Results 2014.updateddoc

The Canterbury Paper Tigers recently held their champs at the bay.  They had a great turnout of 9 cats.  Six of them were visitors to the club with three of them here at PBBC for the first time.   The results of that weekend were Bob Nicholls coming in 1st place and Harry Dawber close behind in 2nd place.  Well done guys and we hope to see you all back again.
